Flatness & Why It's Good For New York Web Design

By Michael Robert Peterson

In this day and age, it seems like cleanliness is a critical factor of New York web design. If you were to click onto any website, with a modern design, you may be able to see a number of similarities between each of them. What exactly do these entail, though? There are many ideas to address but one thing is for certain: each of them effectively plays into the idea of flatness, which is a strong point associated with this level of design.

If you are curious to know when flat web design had started to become a trend, it's difficult to pinpoint a singular moment. However, one can argue that the creation of websites like Google have been able to perpetuate this trend forward. After all, it's important to note how simple Google's overall look is, since it is just the company name constructed with multicolored letters. This is a strong point that, without question, plays into the idea of flatness in design.

Strong efforts, in the way of New York web design, can be seen with a few ideas brought into effect. One of the most important, as you'll learn, has to do with the omission of rather superfluous designs, gradients being just one of the many examples. Avatar New York, in addition to other companies, will tell you that these are rather tired and do not add much to the overall design of a single website. As you'll learn, in time, solid colors are for the best.

Another way to ensure flatter web design is the utilization of simpler text. You may have stumbled upon a number of websites with gigantic logos, which doesn't do well for the overall presentation of the sites themselves. If anything, it's more important to keep the logo itself smaller and, possibly, position it in one of the top corners of the page. What this does is that it allows for more aesthetically pleasing visuals and websites which users will be happy to navigate.

If these ideas are considered, there's no doubt that New York web design efforts will be made that much stronger. Flatter designs have to be incorporated, in this day and age, since these are the ones that most people on the Internet are used to. In addition, it's easy to see that they can result in some of the best appearances associated with websites. Not only are these pleasing to the eye but the likelihood of them eliciting greater levels of engagement will not be overstated.
